How to Deposit Cash with the GO2bank App

Since GO2bank is a branchless mobile bank, we wanted to make depositing cash as easy as can be, wherever, whenever you might find yourself. That’s why you can easily deposit cash into your account using the GO2bank app at retailers nationwide, including CVS®, Walgreens®, Walmart® and more. Here’s how:

Step 1: Generate a barcode

Just log in to your account on the GO2bank app, tap “Move money,” then select “Deposit cash.” You’ll be prompted to enter the amount of cash you want to deposit and select the participating retailer you’ll visit to make your deposit. Select the retailer that’s most convenient for you. A barcode will then be generated for you to use at this retailer. Keep in mind that there’s a $20 minimum and a $500 maximum for each cash deposit, and a maximum daily limit of $3,000. There is also a retail service fee of no more than $4.95 to make a cash deposit, so you’ll have to factor that into how much you’re able to deposit. It’s best to generate your barcode when you’re near or inside the retailer since the barcode will only be valid for 1 hour.

Step 2: Bring the barcode and your cash to the retailer

Take your generated barcode to the participating retailer and present it to the cashier. They’ll scan the barcode and ask for the cash you wish to deposit. If your barcode has expired by the time you’re at the retailer, you can just generate a new one!

Step 3: Confirm the deposit

After the cashier has completed the transaction, the cashier will give you a receipt. Keep this receipt as proof of your deposit. You can also confirm the deposit by checking your transactions in your GO2bank app. Please note, it may take up to 10 minutes before your deposit shows up in your account.

Bonus tips

  • If you can, bring your GO2bank debit card with you when depositing cash just in case. If you can’t create a barcode, you can also deposit cash by asking the cashier to swipe your card.** Retail service fee and limits apply. See Deposit Account Agreement (PDF) for details.
