Do I need to activate the temporary GO2bank Visa Debit card I got at a store?

Yes. The card you get at a store is not personalized with your name and has limited features.  When you activate your temporary card, you can then use your card to shop, check your balance, & purchase transactions, and add cash at the register of thousands of retailers nationwide. Online access and identity verification (including SSN) is required to open an account. Mobile number or email address verification and mobile app are required to access the features available with your account.

Once your temporary card is successfully activated, we will send you a new personalized chip-enabled card.  Just follow the instructions on your new card to get started, and to unlock all features on your account.
